coming from the mavic forum, we have one. i'm curious if anyone wants to start one here. i don't have a spark...yet.

Sounds fun.

Yesterday was my first time trying any distance with my Spark. I flew it out over the ocean and went 6096.6 ft in sport mode. I still had reception and could have gone farther, but didn't want to push it.

is that a thing with sparks? i always thought it was like the mavic. when it loses the signal, it pauses and then RTH.

Thanks! about 10,108, then I flew it home and added more miles racing around the neighborhood.

just so we are clear, this should be furthest distance from the remote at any given time. not necessarily furthest total flight distance. though that would make an interesting category too.

If you let it acquire a good GPS lock and set RTH, then yes, it should come back to you.

I never fly anywhere but inside the house without a good GPS lock. As long as I have enough battery I trust RTH.

Ive flown out 4039m using range boosters, connection solid as a rock! The only reason I stopped there was the battery was at 54% and knew I had to get back. Turned around and touched down with only 7% remaining. So I'd say that's a realistic limit based purely on battery power.
