NEW to SPARK (help)

I currently do not have a mobile phone. (for the next few days) Just took the SPARK out of the box and charged all batteries. Can I fly or do anything without a cell phone? I do have the remote and it does connect. I would like to practice flying manually.

Hi Kelly, Congrats on getting your spark & welcome to the forum. We had a discussion on this early this month, look for “Using just the Controller to fly Spark”, & you will get the opinions of the group.
My 2 cents worth....Don’t fly it, the Spark is high tech, easy to fly because it gives so much on the go info. You will have no idea if the gyro or compass is set. The RTH could be set for somewhere in Japan.
Wait for the phone. Get the Go4 app. Update the firmware, (it will need updating & probably use 1 battery charge doing that). Then go have fun flying.
In the meantime look on YouTube for lots of info on flying & care of your new toy. There’s lots to learn. : )
