So I purchased the newest iPad mini 5 today. Primarily for flying. Unfortunately the weather isn’t cooperating and I haven’t been able to try it out. Anyone else using this? Feedback?

I used a Mini 4 and it was great until I sold it. The Mini 5 specs are a huge upgrade -- you should get great performance and many years of use from that one.
Did you get Cellular/GPS or WiFi Only model? That matters for maps unless you can tether it to your iPhone with your carrier plan

I got the cellular model and added it to my Verizon plan. They have a pretty attractive promotion right now, and the added monthly expense is minimal. The iPad itself is not cheap, but like you said, should be good for quite a while. Looking forward to trying it.
