Mavic Owners - When do you fly your Spark?

I know I'm slightly out of turn in this thread, because as yet I only have the Spark (planning to get the MPP too). However, I travel, and tour on motorcycles a lot, so the idea was to get a drone to film my exploits. The Spark came out just as I was about to buy the Mavic Pro, and I decided to go with this as a learning exercise, and because of portability.

What a fantastic purchase. I took it on a 4 day sojourn to Northern Ireland and Ireland a couple of weeks ago. Great footage, and even better lessons about how to film from a drone whilst riding a motorcycle. (pretty damned hard actually)

I've done 6 or so hours flying the Spark now, everything from Backyard, to Park, to Travel, to Motorcycle Touring.

Still going to get the MPP. 3 axis Gymbal, 4k, and more powerful motors to handle the vagaries of wind when travelling just to mention a few reasons. But the Spark is fricking amazing.

Nice! ADV motorcycling is what got me interested in Drones.

Is your's the Africa Twin? I can't make out the bike in front... I've also got an Africa Twin although mine is Rally Red...

Back to the drones - Thing is, if you find the Spark is doing everything you need, no need to buy another drone. While I really like my Spark for what it is, if I could only keep one of my drones it would be the Mavic due to its versatility. Having as many AP drones as I do, some sit unused a lot longer than I'd as I'm always thinking which drone would best be suited for where I may be riding.

Yeah I rented the Africa Twin from Belfast Motorcycle Rentals. It was the DCT. Great machine.

Back at home here in Aus I ride a Ducati Multistrada.

I think for Motorbike Touring the MP might still be better. Apart of course from the 3DoF gimbal and 4K video, it's slightly smaller than the Spark when folded, handles wind better Nd has better active tracking.

Waiting to justify the MP Platinum

No Q on the spec's the MP/MPP is the better drone but I have to say I fly my Spark more than my other drones at the moment because it's so easy to get in the air.

Yeah the Spark is really easy to get in the air. And all the feedback I've received about the footage is nothing short of exemplary. People really love it. Small, quiet, HD is plenty good enough for most TV's, tablets, PC monitors, and 1080p files smaller to capture and edit.

I just bought the Quickdraw Armor for DJI Spark from Dirty J Designs, and am modifying it for my Touring Jacket and/or Kriega R25 Motorcycle Backpack

I don't have a Mavic but am seriously considering one for two reasons, gimbal and battery life.
I love the Spark but there's times the 2 axis gimbal lets you down a bit, especially when trying for a smooth pan.
As mentioned before, the battery life could also be better but these points aren't a deal breaker.
