Is there any way to improve battery life or range?

I can get over 45 minutes of flight time on a single battery by tying a helium balloon to the Spark and then let it float up in the air. When the battery gets to 30% I startup the rotors. This cuts the line to release the balloon and then I fly it home. It goes without saying you only attempt this on a nearly windless day.
