Active track rock climbing

Hi experts do you think I can active track myself climbing?

Sure, why not? Of course you'd want to ensure you have a way to quickly store/access your controller as well as keep a vigilant eye out for obstacles. Otherwise I see no issue with this plan.

AFIK activ track will not make the drone move up or down to follow the object, it only follows horizontally. That's already quite annoying when skiing, but presumably that's worse for rock climbing. Did try it yet however. I would think the best you can do is bring the drone 10 meters above you and than climb up to the drone (the camera will tilt up whin you climb up).
