where are San Diego pilots?

From what I've seen there are not a whole lot places you can fly in San Diego. I was out there last month and thought about taking Sparky out, but it just seemed like the whole area is restricted, unless you can get out into the desert

I was just out in S.D. a couple months ago. Brought my Spark. While there are quite a few places you can't fly (based on the DJI geofencing) there were plenty of places to fly. It just depends where you are. I was able to fly above the old Mission San Diego although there were quite a few trees down low. I was able to fly a little at Pacific Beach (too windy), Tierrasanta area.

I live in SD - too close to Montgomery Field to fly. I agree it seems like the whole area is off-limits without a flight plan and phone call to tower
