is the 5.8 g in the spark controller or do you need 5.8 g in your phone .

Both, Spark to RC (controller) can be 2.4G or 5.8G, Spark decide at start and it can be later changed. The RC to phone link use the other band.
If your phone cannot do 5.8G as the Spark require, you can use an OTG cable to connect the Spark to the RC.

In the phone, you can connect directly to your Spark using your phone/table and you can set it to 5.8 GHz.
