How to choose 2.4G wifi on Spark RC?

Somebody may correct me but...
It depends where you are, what phone and OS you're using, and whether you have OTG.
In the EU, Android phones are crippled and have limited channels on 5GHz. The 5GHz channel that the Spark chooses when you try to set it up from new is not visible to an EU Android phone, so you have to do the 10 second press to get 3 beeps thing to reset the Spark's WiFi to a 2.4GHz channel so that your phone can see it.
If you have a remote controller, you end up with the RC connected to the Spark using 5GHz while the Android phone connects to the RC on 2.4GHz, not ideal for best range.
However, if you are able to use an OTG cable for the phone>RC connection, then you can choose 2.4GHz as the RC>Spark connection.
Things are different outside the EU and also using iOS, as far as I can tell.
