Camera behaviour, two questions

I experience a somewhat strange camera behaviour. Sometimes a yellow circle shows up with a plus sign up right. Not always, but today again. Tried to play with it and could not figure out why it comes on and off. The only thing I could change was with the lock in the middle, that locks the exposure. Ok so far. But why sometimes and why not always?

When fiddling with it, suddenly the camera showed a zoomed in picture. I thought there was no zoom on the Spark camera. How can it be reset to wide angle?

I know the box is for exposure but not sure how to bring up. I think if you touch the screen it will pop up but don't quote me on that. Also with the zoom I think it is when you change from picture mode to video mode it does that. I have noticed the zoom as well but then it goes away. Picture mode is a 4:3 ratio and video is a 16:9 ratio. It always happens for me when I switch from picture mode to video mode.
