If you've had interest this long you'll be fine. Just start off with tripod mode and you'll have no issues with a little reading of the instructions and maybe a few youtube vids.

I use an S8 with everything up to date and have no issues. Have you recently bought a smartwatch? I take mine off and that makes a huge difference.

It's interference yes. Or at least it's plausible.

I use galaxy s8 with spark. Can get to 120m height and over 200m distance no problem (haven't tried further yet). Always use airplane mode and remove my smartwatch.

Yeah this is more as I'm backpacking and wondering whether it's worth it to keep in my pack as space is tight. If I was just at home I'd be keeping it of course.

Yeah it's frustrating how many places would be reasonably fine to many people and you try to stick to rules of the country your visiting but they make it difficult. The southern lakes district has much better rulings and I can fly safely and know I'm not breaking any rules there.

Well I was at the lakes near wanaka earlier this week and wasn't sure who the land was under in different areas. I think DOC areas are always signposted?

I more mean the QLDC district outside of those areas. The QLDC website is confusing and seems like there is a blanket ban.

I didn't know this was an issue. Kind of concerning. Where have you seen these issues?
