When my drone had an unfortunate encounter with a tree, I had been recording video. In order to see what happened I transferred the file off the SD card. However, due to the accident the recording ended without the file being closed properly. So MP4 files write information at the end of the file and if the file is not closed properly, that information is missing and it cannot be played. That's what I found with VLC and other tools. My wonderful file was corrupted and so my only choice was to use an expensive MP4 recovery program. Wasn't worth it to me. What I did find is that since I had set my DJ4 app to capture video from the transmission back to the RC, I did have a lower-res file that was closed properly and could be read. So if you haven't erased things, you might check on your phone/tablet's storage for the video copy there.
