I'm new to drone ownership, how strict is this rule? How is it enforced (radar?)? What is the penalty? Is there a thread that addresses this that someone could point me to?

Just bought a spark yesterday!!! Haven't had a chance to fly yet but super excited! I've been interested in drones since the original phantom and when the spark came out I watched like a hawk. I've been waiting for it to go on sale and yesterday was time! Can anyone point me in a beginners guide...
