    They flew overhead

I made a Spark video of the Boston skyline last year. The stealth bombers, escorts, Thunderbirds and B52 would have flown near the skyline several miles away.

A clip from a frozen island in Saint-Petersburg

A really well produced video. I read that a tunnel exists between the city and the island. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanonersky_Tunnel From time to time I read the Siberian Times. Someone I worked with , who is from Ukraine, used to talk about Lake Baikal which was unknown to me before...

    They flew overhead

I've been using a new DSLR for a few weeks. The aircraft were taken by using 'aperture priority' with a set iso in broad daylight. The camera selects shutter speed when you take the shot. This had my confidence up. Closer to home is a salt marsh. Towards sunset I saw a feeding grey heron. Didn't...

    They flew overhead

With refueling they stay up for a long time. Pease ANG for refueling ? Another photographer said Langley for a destination. Missouri , I read, is home base. Boston news said they'd be flying at 1000 ft but my math doesn't agree based on the photo.?? Maybe my photo was at a big angle to the...

    They flew overhead

Guesstimating the altitude based on camera field of view and lens setting gives a flight altitude of about 3000 feet. The photo metadata says 95 mm lens The B2 wingspan is 52.4 meters (Wikipedia) The width of the shot is about 149 meters (2.8 x the wingspan) A field of view calculator gives...

    They flew overhead

I didn't have my Spark with me....I had planned to try and photograph them at an anticipated distance ....a bit more across the Charles river....but they flew overhead several hundred feet above during the July 4th weekend in Boston. A really expensive collection of flying machines....In 5 waves.

Focus peaking image stacks with drone landscapes?

More of a Mavic drone DJI go app idea...for scenes where objects are not moving. But given the stable hover attributes of camera drones some scenes might apply. There is a software called Helicon Focus (30 day free trial, $30 for a year). I tried the software with it's companion app Helicon...

    Drone's and monkeys

I haven't flown my Spark yet this year but I understand that drone technology has improved a great deal in other models.

    Garden center "Sakura"

Nice video...... I had a conversation with a night duty nurse in Boston last Nov 2019 She told me that Dnieper is pronounced 'nipper' (english phonetics) and was interested in your drone video channel. Her Dad, a policeman, was a second responder to the Chernobyl disaster. She's from Mogilev...

    Sea Kayak - Beverly Harbour

Kind words.... Although I've renewed my Care Refresh with DJi I've been using a smartphone adapter for an ETX 90 scope to grab some September moon shots Derby Wharf is interesting. Sometimes at very high tides the edges of the outer walls are just under water. 'Friendship ' has been...

The Spark takes on the Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, PA

also required anthracite coal and mining was in decline from about 1960 onwards ...transported on rail cars like those in the Reading Railroad. The 1959 Knox mine disaster flooded the Scranton area mines. My father's family apartment in the Hazleton area at that time burned coal for heat...
