    Return to home!!

I just noticed in the specs for the Spark the following: Vision System Altitude Range: 0-26 ft (0 - 8 m)

    Return to home!!

What does ascending to 30 feet and waiting do? Do you use a landing pad?

    Return to home!!

I haven't had to use it yet, but I have tested it many times to see how it behaves. The one thing that I saw in my tests that worries me the most is that with the sun at a low angle the shadows seem to trigger the object avoidance sensor continually. While testing RTH once the Spark was...

WTF DJI?... WTF!!?!?!@!?!!!! First Spark flyaway

Sorry to hear of your fly away. From all of the experiences that I have read about I will never use gesture mode without first having the remote connected (and at least available to me nearby if I don't hold it all of the time). It's a cool gimmick but not a primary aircraft control mechanism...

Experienced a Spark fly away for the first time. crapped in my pants a little

My solution to the compass calibration question is simply to check the compass interference prior to liftoff. If the interference is high but not high enough to trigger an alert you might still have trouble. Or in that case if you recalibrate in an area with high interference you may also have...

Sport Mode death - has this happened to anyone else?

Wow. Scary. First time I've heard of this. Can you upload your log to Airdata UAV - Flight Data Analysis for Drones and share it publicly so we can see the analysis?

Spark as a very first drone?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have an inverter. However, but this only helps if: a) you are near the car to begin with b) you are willing to keep the engine running and producing pollution for over an hour while you charge... this only makes sense if you are already driving somewhere...

Spark as a very first drone?

I went through your calculus and decided on the spark and am very happy with it. I did buy the fly more combo plus two extra batteries ("fly more" is a silly name when it only includes 1 more battery). The size and relative ease of palm launching it are some of the things that attracted me. I...

Lost connection, lost Spark. What next?

d'oh. thanks. :) It looks like the kp-index was not that high on Aug 15 (a max of 2), so I think that idea is ruled. out.

    Gimbal overload during flight

I would take a can of compressed air and very carefully blow out all of the joints in the gimbal. Perhaps you got some dirt, sand, or other material in there.

Battery charging hub - micro usb port?

The charging hub draws a max of 50w via the A/C adapter. I don't think you could push that through a single MicroUSB cable.

Lost connection, lost Spark. What next?

What date, time and general location? I'm trying to see if these disconnects can correlate to a high kp-index.

Behaviour When entering no fly zone

NFZ is an imprecise term. It depends on the class of airspace. My experience is that if you enter Class D airspace you just get a warning. I also once got a warning about Restricted airspace, but it would let me fly (although I did not). There are other airspace classifications (like within 2...

    Stuck above the clouds/fog

Two points, none of which you will like: 1. DJI's manual says not to fly in fog 2. If you are in the US then the FAA's rules prohibit flying in fog and clouds (clouds explicitly and fog because you lose "line of sight")

    Spark controller cannot save setting

I have the same problem, but once I evaluated all of the customization options I came to the conclusion that none of them were really useful to me anyway...
