Hi @Justin, welcome from a fellow Brit. Pleased to see your reaction to the Spark. It seems to be fairly typical as many people equate its compact form with low quality. I've got a Mavic and a Spark and they complement each other perfectly. Happy flying in Somerset and around. :)

ND filters shouldn't affect image quality at all. Their sole function is to reduce the amount of light entering the lens. This leads to lower shutter speeds, which in turn cause slight image blur in moving objects - the much-desired 'cinematic' effect.

It's the dog's b...uh, it's pretty good. ;)

ND filters are your best bet if you're doing filming. They usually come in sets of 3 or 6. I use PolarPro on my Mavic and hope to get their Spark ND filters as they seem to fit better than some others. However, they aren't cheap.

My experience too. Mavic enables you to do a lot of creative imagery but you really have to plan ahead with settings, etc. Spark is fun, immediate and, with it's paired down settings, more like the snapshot cameras of old. To my mind they complement rather than compete with each other.

Just realised I'd already seen this charger without realising it. It was in one of DJI's own publicity videos for the Spark launch in New York. If you hadn't uploaded that image I wouldn't have ever known what it was! Check out the video, the charger appears (very) briefly at 1:48min.

You're right, there are a lot of such videos and it concerned me before I bought my Spark. However, if you think about it, who's going to post a video about how trouble free their drone is or how they've never had an accident with it? Crashes make great clickbait for people chiefly interested in...

Thanks, that's fascinating. An as-yet unused feature of a drone that constantly surprises me.

Forgive a newbie question but what are the four metal squares on the base of every Spark battery for? They look like charging contacts but none of the current charging methods for the Spark seem to use them. Just curious as they don't seem to have an obvious function.
