That was me! I even have one of the DJI Crystal Sky monitors and had the same issues with that!! So they can't claim it's not compatible. I have flown with the .12 at least a half a dozen times and it's MUCH better with the OTG cable on my Pixel 2 XL. Actually usable.

First test run on 4.2.12 and SUCCESS! So far. I did a quick test about 100m away and controls and video were PERFECT. Hopefully they will eventually release this version formally and my Spark will be useful again! It was honestly amazing the difference between this and the old version...

That's interesting...so they POSSIBLY are planning on bringing back OTG. The only question would be...does it solve the range issues. Because my spark can't make it 50m without lagging choppy video and decreased response from controls.

My spark also doesn't get flown anymore. I tried again today with the new app and the lag and response is so horrible I can't even fly it 100 feet away. As said above it's time to sell it. Shame as I liked the size and capabilities of this little drone. I don't even care about OTG or WiFi...

Does it work backwards? Always thought it only worked if the Remote Control was the source (aka phone is charging).

This has veered of topic. But for me OTG was the reason for using this. Along with the older version .15 that actually still works on my Nexus 7. The newer DJI apps are too much for that old tablet. I run the new DJI Apps on my newer Pixel tablet and works great. Actually have a Crystal Sky...

Thank you for this. This did two things for me. 1. My Nexus 7 was choking hard core with the new DJI GO apps. This runs great again on my Nexus. And 2 I can now run OTG again with my Spark! Working great for both my Mavic Pro and Spark.
