because you don't want your battery falling out mid-flight, destroying the aircraft. the clip eliminates the possibility, be it from batteries with the old clip, worn clips, an incorrectly seated battery, clips bumped during handling etc. it's like wearing a seatbelt in your car. legalities...

the difference being that worrying beforehand grants the ability to do something about it, rather than regret in hindsight. people who worry tend not to be those that regret.

I have the PGYTech cover, it is very good. never forgotten to remove it yet. wish I could say the same for my MP!

no, the options are: (a) use a strap and don't worry about the battery falling out, because it can't. (b) don't use a strap and hope the battery doesn't fall out. worrying about it is optional.

I use the PGYTech hard case. it carries everything I need. the PGYTech gimbal protector is very good.

absolutely I use the clips, it is foolish not to for the minimal cost and repercussions of the battery coming free in flight.

that's entirely to be expected... the charge regulator circuitry won't allow further charging as it would damage the cells. again, attempting to store lithium batteries at full charge for more than a couple of days will damage them. you are far better to store at "3 LED" levels of storage...
