What is the proper sequence of events to get going when using the OTG cable?
1, start RC
2, start spark
3, wait for RC and spark to link (green light)
4, ??
5,??
6,??

4. Connect the OTG cable between the mobile device and DJI GO
5. Start DJI GO

Right -- the above process should work on both Apple and Android devices.

I tried and didn't see any real difference with Wi-Fi connections... I have galaxy s9+

4, Switch Device on and select Airplane Mode,,(Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off)
5, Select DJi App, plug OTG cable from device into RC,,!!
6, Wait for App to accept OTG,, ( I get a message stating "This device does not support this"
however I ignore this and select "Go Fly"

Please note I am using IOS (iPad Air2) and not sure about Android!!

Someone posted this.
I use it with no errors.

My OTG procedure (DJI GO 4 4.2.12):

1. Turn on Remote Control (RC). Wait for solid red.
2. Plug in OTG cable in phone.
3. Plug other end in RC.
4. Choose DJI GO 4 app in popup window.
5. Wait until GO 4 app is open and it says "RC Connected" in lower left corner.
6. Power up your Spark. Try to place RC as close to Spark as possible. (DJI recommend 20 cm)
7. Bonding between RC and Spark should take less than 30 sec.
8. Hit GO FLY!

This is absolutely fail-safe method!

If for some reason you want to change channels, lower numbers is 2.4 GHz and higher numbers is 5.8 GHz.
In CE area 2.4 GHz channel is preferred.

To change between bands/channels:

9. In Wifi section of settings, choose "Custom".
10. Where it says Channel Index, tap one of the channels.
11. Tap "Apply" at the bottom of the page.
12. Power down your Spark (Air-craft)
13. Power up your Spark again.
14. Within 30 sec you will see new channel has been set.

This is also fail-safe method!

FLY SAFE!

It's for OTG.... Read it good dude [emoji3]

And yes everything is working. Did 8 flights with that setup, no problem.
Everything is there. Battery life, distance, hight. All info is like it schould.
I was having the message 'videotransmission connection low please adjust antennas' when flying with wifi from 50m away. Now I did 250m with perfect connection with OTG.
I mean it's better now and all good. Finally they did something for the owners...

Hey, I have both Android and IOS. I live in the Caribbean. For me I get way better results with my IPhone 6+ using Wi-Fi. There were alot of Wi-Fi signals where I flew from that day. Below is a pic of my flight record...the last flight I did with my spark on the 5.8Ghz band earlier this week.Screenshot_20180424-170450.jpg

Yeah it could be possible that every region needs certain settings. I am from Belgium (European union) and I am best with OTG and spark on 2.4ghz [emoji6]. Otherwise it's not good to fly the spark farther then 100m. Now with these settings I have no problems anymore. Mutch flight pleasure there in that beautiful part of the world! Grtz
