Hey guys so went for a little flight this evening just to have a play as i hadn't used it in a while. set home point and took off from my friends balcony..all of a sudden my spark was losing connection to my controller and i couldn't see anything in the camera, (I'm using a otg cable from phone to controller) so i clicked return to home but i lost sight of it. The maps indicate it returned to the home point but it is literally nowhere to be seen, i even looked on the roof. can you actually trust the gps mapping and flight path on the phone? heres some photos below of what happened.

any advice is welcome I'm stressing!!!!

Have you tried to use a gps location based app like google maps on your phone and walk to those locations to see if your phones gps also shows incorrect positioning data?

Also check the "Find My Drone" location and see if its the same as your flight records, if it wasnt too long ago, it might still be on.

Thankyou for replying! Yes I did have a look on the find my drone and gps coordinates in google maps and you can see below, it shows the drone being right next to me, essentially in the RTH point but I looked for an hour in that vicinity and nothing! looked in trees and under shrubs and its nowhere to be seen.... thus me thinking that the coordinates are incorrect. Is that even possible?

It is if someone found it and took it inside. But you'd have seen it come back i imagine and possibly heard it. Was it dark enough to see the lights before you lost LOS? And is there anything taller than 74m around where its supposed to be?

So when it started freaking out I left my friends house and walked in the direction I sent it in to try and find it but when I left I didn't see or hear the drone which makes me think the map indicating that it returned to home is incorrect. When I went looking for it the sun was almost set so it was getting very difficult to see... i did head back out with a heavy duty torch for an hour... but still nothing...perhaps tomorrow when there is light I may have more luck. I was just trying to figure out if the coordinates could be lying to me, if they are accurate then there may still be hope! but as I said i didn't hear or see anything.

can you upload a pic from the flight records just before you lost sight of it?

I’m hoping you find it mate. But it sure looks as though it never successfully executed it’s RTH sequence. That line back woulld have been straight as an arrow. Looking like compass errors, in an out of losing a GPS lock. Also the height in the pics hardly ever changed. As though it landed high on something, or struck something.
