We're using Spark as an indoor tactical tool for a SWAT team.

But, I'm concerned that after starting DJI GO and Spark that an entire operation can go south because there's a dang firmware update that needs to install.

Is there a way to prevent those updates? Perhaps keep iOS device in airplane mode all of the time?

Thanks in advance.

I'd go airplane mode.
Nothing can be downloaded then.
Not exactly true. If you run the Go4 app with internet connection, it will get info about new firmware release. After you set it to airplane mode, it will remember the new firmware and will propose it the next time you connect to your Spark and it check its version. Just ignore the update as Florida Drone Supply suggested.

Why open app before airplane mode tho? Wouldn't you go airplane beforehand?
I mean, ensure it doesn't update while you're in a tactical op, update afterward when you want to update?
