I updated my iPhoneX and I flew my spark via WiFi (no OTG) and I’ve never got that kind of range. 2,800 ft before I lost video signal. No range extenders or anything. It may not be a big deal but I was impressed

    2800ft is 853 meters.
I have reached much better ranges before.
This is not spectacular, except you are on CE.

I'm flying this weekend (hopefully) with it... thanks for the heads up.

A silly question, but discharge my iPad faster with OTG cable than without?

You guys are brave. I would be in full panic mode to fly that far. Especially if I lost any kind of connection. But that is just me being paranoid about losing my Spark.:D

Not real sure about that. I was one of those that was all in a tizzy wanting OTG ability, when it finally came back for iOS I don’t even use it

Your cable might be being used as a charging cable.
Search this Forum for OTG data connections.

Depending on how the device is set up, the cable may transfer power from the device and charge remote. Or vice-versa if the cable is swapped around.

I use to use a cable with my mini4 but the WiFi seems to work fine for me.

There is a USB OTG thingy that came with my Samsung Galaxy s7 that plugs into the remote, and then my cable to the mini4.

Went for a quick flight on Saturday, all went well. No issues with the new 4.2.21, however I have held off going to iOS 11.4

    I did use OTG
