Best practice: Helix around an object

I’d like to take a video of a church, circling around it and ascending at the same time, keeping the church in focus. A bit like the “helix” quickshot. What would be the best way to do it? Circling manually wouldn’t be as smooth and cinematic as I want it to be, so there’s the “helix” quickshot left or creating a route with autopilot. Maybe I’m even missing an option. How would you do it?

I saw a video where a guy just used the Helix quickshot to do exactly what you want to do. As long as there is enough color contrast between the ground and the object it should work fine.

For semi-automatic, use ActiveTrack (trace or profile) plus the roll stick. Or for the truly skilled, full manual: both sticks inward or outward to circle, plus throttle.
