Altitude question

Was flying in Palo Duro Canyon yesterday from the top of some peaks. Home point announced its update and as I go up it shows altitude of 50ft. As I leave the peak it continues to show that altitude or higher when I go up. Thing is, as I went forward from the peak, the bottom dropped out below Sparky. He was WAY above 50ft.

Now my question, because I didn’t try it.

What happens when I go out from the peak and down below the 50ft it thinks it’s at, even down past 0? Does the altitude go negative? And if I were below the 0 and hit RTH, any idea what would happen? Like I said, I didn’t try it. I took it up and then hit RTH and it did what it’s suppose to.
Btw, Palo Duro is a beautiful canyon in the Texas panhandle. Do yourself a treat and visit if you’re around that area.

Yes, the altitude will be a negative value.

The Spark would ascend to 0 feet and then up to your set RTH altitude before returning to the home point.
