26 flights is basically new for fly more combo. That is less than 9 charge cycles on the battery. You could ask to see the flight log from the DJI go app for confirmation.

You would need an itunes account (or someone with an itunes account). You would link that device to the account and then download the dji app from the appstore. Beyond that you wouldn't need anything.

Get the remote. The remote makes a world of difference. I use an iPad mini 2 just for the larger form factor. I would suggest getting a mount to use with it rather than forcing the ipad to fit with the controller. Welcome to the group!
