    Avoiding Attention, Spark?

You are correct - home lock cannot work in ATTI mode

    Above the clouds :)

That limit can be set via the DJI GO app. The legal limit varies by country. Probably the OP violated the law, but I am not sure. That said, going above the clouds with Spark can be risky because its optical system may mistake the clouds below as the ground and it will refuse to descend and just...

Atti mode soiled my pants nearly [emoji23]

High wind can cause IMU issues resulting in ATTI mode. You should not have taken off. Also you had magnetic field interference. Were you near high voltage power lines?

    I Couldn’t Believe It!

Was taking video of a relative's large property a few weeks ago. A turkey vulture started circling my spark - but at some distance. I rose up to 400 ft and he (she?) stayed below the AC, but still circling spark's location the whole time I was flying. Never came closer than 100 ft or so. Maybe...

LOL - I am still waiting for my first check! After picking thru his paranoid gibberish, I would now ask Gipsz Jakab to prove his assertion or just slink away back to troll-land.

    Sorta wrecked my Spark!

According to the data you were 41.9 feet from Home Point when Auto Landing started.

    Sorta wrecked my Spark!

Your flight data indicates that this was operator error. This is in the manual (p14, item 4b, paragraph 1), but is badly worded and it is not easy to understand. If you are within 20m of the home point (and you were) and "RTH at current altitude" is disabled, if you initiate RTH your AC will do...

I did not say anything that was not correct and it was all on topic (or ON TOPIC as you may prefer.) In any case, by your own definition of what is ON TOPIC, your last sentence is OFF TOPIC

The limitations re airports is the longest standing relevant restriction on our activities (I've been doing RC since the late 70s) and imo the last one we should worry about. Violations of that fundamentally obvious restriction is one factor that contributes to making us look like a bunch of...

    >> "Now you're just being obnoxious" That comment is probably against forum rules. Also calling someone who thinks it's OK to fly a Spark within 1/4 of an airport an idiot would be against forum rules. >> "DJI accuracy of said NFZ's proven not always accurate btw and, no the FAA does NOT own...

The reply was directly on topic, just not the answer you wanted. Too bad.

I can say what I want where I want and as long as I stay within the rules of this forum. Are you the mommy/enforcer of this thread? As for the OP's question, my answer indicates what I think of it.

You shouldn't be flying 1/4 mile from an active airport at any altitude. Sparks (and other quads) don't always go where you want them to go.
