downward infrared sensor failure

I get that all the time, not quite sure, but I believe it has to do with the sensors not recognizing the texture in the terrain directly under it. With me it happens when over grass, or water. I do hope it’s a software issue though. At first I would land but now unless I see wierd behavior, which I never have, i just keep flying. It really is the only error i ever get.
Oh and by the way, I fly with ios devices, so it’s not our devices.

Thanks. I had never seen the message before, although I frequently see the red indicator at the top of the screen (I assume they are related). Today the snow cover could have confused the sensor. I was able to land without any problem. It was in the high thirties. I don't know how people fly when it's sub zero. . . .

I know, especially knowing how battery technology is affected by it. I guess I’m just chcken, lol. Don’t like taking risks.
Cheers, :)

By the way, what red indicator?

Between the GPS signal and WiFi signal. Obstacle Avoidance Notification.

Why would that be red? my foward sensor never flashes red when I get that message. And the telemetry as far as altitude goes still reads true. I watch it carefully though, when I do get that message. But my Obstacle Avoidance stays on.
Oh, I know, yours is disabled because of Sportmode, isn’t it?

The Obstacle Avoidance is disabled during landing and / or it's disabled in the app. Or Sport mode.
